I will be in Buenos Aires, Argentina in December. I am interested in visiting Colonia, Uruguay for a day trip. I want to hire a guide or go on a small group trip - not solo. Does anyone have any recommendations for guides or companies?

2 cents here (may not be worth much)
If you have less than 3 days in BA, skip Colonia.
BA has so much to offer.
You have more days, consider going to Montevideo (if you really want to see Colonia, you can stop there 2 hours on your way out or return)
Colonia ferry has too much logistics overhead
Long lines to board, customs/immigration for both countries, TWICE.
If you decide to go, take big spray, some small denomination crisp US dollar bill and lots of patience - guide will not be needed
