We will be in Darwin for one full day and a half day in March. I searched Viaator, Get Your Guide, etc and haven't found anything truly interesting. We like museums, walking tours, nature, etc. So any suggestions are appreciated. We're also interested in local restaurants or fun evening activities. Thanks for your help.
This is the official Northern Territory tourism site
It will have all the latest information and links that you need.

Usually spectacular sunsets over the Timor Sea.
Plenty of options around the harbour including dinner cruise options. Have not done any of them. Just on private yachts.
Have not been there at that time of year. It is end of cyclone season. Have been mid dry season June/July.
Not many people know this. In 1942 the destroyer USS Peary was sunk in the harbour by Japanese torpedo fighter bombers. One of the ships 4” gun was recovered by a US consortium and then restored by the RAN and is now on the harbour foreshore as a monument to the sailors and officers who were killed. https://northernterritory.com/darwin-and-surrounds/see-and-do/uss-peary-memorial
Could combine sunset with a visit to the site. President Obama took part in a wreath laying ceremony during November 2011.
USN, RAN records and Wikipedia can fill out what happened if you are interested.

Thank you for the recommendations. The website was helpful as was the information about the area near the port. After your information and looking at the area on Google Maps we put a loose itinerary together. We're looking forward to our time in Darwin.
We enjoyed the museum and Art gallery of Northern Territory and the Royal Flying Doctors museum. Depending on where you are staying we walked to the waterfront precinct and got the free shuttle RFDS museum. The dinner cruises leave from the same area and there are also restaurants at the end of the Wharf.
