Looking for advice on best time animal sightings and whale watching in Costa Rica.
We stayed at a hotel deep in the rainforest near the Arenal volcano called Chachagua Rainforest Resort. They offered a nighttime nature walk through the grounds and we saw all kinds of animals: toads, snakes, tons of insects.
Lots of places offered nature walks to see sloths, but we didn’t go and never saw any in the wild. We did see them at a wildlife center near Tamarindo. We saw lots of parrots in the wild, and heard tons of monkeys.
You can also take river boat cruises to see animals.
Not sure about Whales but wildlife is pretty easy to hear and see out in the forests. Just avoid going during the rainy season. I’ve never experienced such rain and I didn’t tour during the season. Have a great trip!
