Colorado, USA now joins UK & other locations with Covid-19 Variant

This news has just broken, about a non-traveling person in my home state of Colorado being the first confirmed U.S. case of the variant strain of the virus, the one that’s locked down much of SE England. Maybe Colorado residents will also be banned from traveling to the EU for awhile?

Looking forward to vaccinations, and being able to make our planned Late Sept. 2021 trip.

Not surprising and very frustrating. Who knows when we will get vaccinated. The promised numbers of doses aren’t being shipped.

I think the larger issue is that only 25-35% (estimated due to reporting lags) of the shipped doses have been used. Some of the production is being held back to be sure second doses will be available if there's a production hiccup, so the deliveries may catch up with expectations in reasonably short order. Whether we have enough necessities like syringes, I just don't know. Needles in arms? That is a big challenge.

The big issue is that we need to get through the transition so that someone will actually be in charge and with plans that can be executed. Until then we are just marking time and crossing our fingures.

Well said.
We here in Canada feel the same for you.
I hope things change radically for the better for you all in three weeks' time.
I'd like to see New York again one day....haven't crossed south of the border for nearly six years …… :(

When borders reopen, I anticipate/ guess they will be either "open" or "closed" to US nationals as a whole, not individual state residents. The finding in Colorado for a person with no travel history indicates existing community spread. Another finding was made in California. I'm confident there will be more findings in other places, it's just a matter of time and more genomic sequencing.
