Chichen Itza

We will be in Playa del Carmen next week and wanted to visit Chichen Itza, I'm hoping someone has been there recently who can recommend a great tour company. I looked here on the forum, all comments were 4 -6 years old.
We will not have a car so looking for a tour company that will do all from our hotel.

Thanks so much

Sorry you are not getting responses. When I visited merida we booked an excursion to celestun to see the flamingos thru gray Line. The excursion itself was excellent. Trying to schedule it was a nightmare, we had internet access. But we had to do it on the phone. Which took an hour. The pickup point they gave us was at a boutique hotel like 6 blocks from our rental house. The owner of the hotel came out and screamed at us that he had told gray line they could not use him as a pick up point anymore and there was no way in hell we were allowed into his lobby for water or to use the toilet (we had no intention of going inside, but clearly he was working thru some past problems )🤪
Again the trip itself was excellent. Our guide was excellent and very on top of asking us if we needed a toilet stop. The boat captain they had contracted with spoke no english, but our guide came along. As a part of the package we visited a seaside restaurant that was excellent. We also did a day trip to izamal which also has a pyramid that dates from 400 AC. It's kinda like a slightly smaller not as tourist over run chichen itza with lots of lunch options and a museum and a restored cathedral

I saw your post and went to Viator and found trip from Playa delCarmen straightaway. Pick up at hotels or a meet point they tell you maybe in case you encounter a hotel manager as noted in previous post.

I would suggest you join a Playa Del Carmen facebook page and ask the question there. We vacationed every winter in that area for years, but it's been nine years since we were there. Back then I got all the answers and idea from a great forum that is no longer.

I do have a comment, maybe for others more than you. We have been to Chichen Itza on the spring equinox and saw the serpent. While it was a cool experience, that day was extremely crowded. I prefer both Coba, which is still open to climb, and Tulum, for ocean views over CI.

Where are you staying? The hotel probably might have good recommendations for tours. I will ask friends that still go if they have any suggestions.

The best tour you can get is one that arrives as EARLY as possible. Otherwise you will not believe the crowds involved. It will be wall to wall people and wall to wall vendors walking between sites.
So, any tour that picks you up at your hotel at the earliest hour before dawn.
