Why not get your answer directly from the source which is T-Mobile? See what cheap int'l plans or opportunities are available.

My TMobile plan worked just fine about 3 years ago. But the best advice is check with TMobile

My service was fine two years ago. When I went to the Dead Sea the closest cell tower must have been across the water as I got the Welcome to Jordan text and while driving back to Jerusalem it switched back.
