We're headed to Costa Rica in 3 weeks and want to rent a 4 wheel drive car. We're looking for a long term rental and want to be able to go wherever that takes us. I'd love to see recommendations for Car Rental Companies near Liberia Airport. Is it better to wait and rent at on arrival or get something in advance online? Thanks for any help!

We rented a SUV type vehicle from Go Bananas, February 2024, pick up was San Jose Airport but I believe they also have a location in Liberia. Communication, service, car etc was all excellent and would highly recommend. I did a lot of research due to our needs and the insurance requirements in Costa Rica, car rentals are not cheap.

I haven't been to Costa Rica yet but have read a lot of reviews! Many people recommend Vamos or Adobe Rental Car. I would definitely book in advance.
