Capital One in Patagonia- heads up

I am so grateful to the Forum! I paid little attention to the Forum posts about their change to the Discover network over the summer but it stayed with me in a nagging way. Fortunately! To be safe I signed up ( fast, easy online) for a Schwab debit card.
Capital One has been my go- to ( credit/debit) for years for travel. On the preparations list for my upcoming Patagonia tour, for money suggestions, was that Discover is not used? Please confirm for yourself, but still, I'm relieved to have an alternative with Schwab.
I'm in the minority that gets currency ahead of arrival and avoids ATMs but good to know...

I've also switched to the Schwab Platinum debit card for the convenience. My Capital One account now has a whopping $2.64 balance.

I finally got the Costco credit card because of this. My Edward Jones debit card was cancelled for lack of use.

I never before paid attention to the name of the network at ATMs away from the US- with getting some local currency in advance and then not needing more. (I spend anything left towards the final night hotel balance or at the airport).
I have an AMEX card tied to my Delta loyalty miles and it's only accepted once in awhile, so really need another reliable alternative. I'm still going to take the Capital One card along.
But so grateful to the Forum for alerting me!
