Hello, flying to Cancun for a few days, I've used my Capital one Debit Card for fee-free withdrawals in Europe (Porto and Munich). Wondering if anyone has had first hand experience in Mexico? I would have thought since Cancun is so commercialized that plastic (my capital one QuickSilver) would suffice but I like to have some cash on hand for smaller shops.

Haven't been to Cancun, but we've never had any issues elsewhere in Mexico using ATM's, though as you say credit cards are accepted virtually everywhere now. Still, doesn't hurt to have some cash for incidental expenses should the need arise.
The usual cautions apply, ie try to use an ATM in a bank as opposed to on the street, etc.

If you’re talking about the debit card attached to a Capital One 360 account, we’ve used ours through several trips in Mexico…no problems at all.
