Our day trip to that area was with a guide.

Uber works quite well in Cape Town. I never waited more than 5 minutes for a ride.

Ditto on Uber; we always used Uber Black.

Would you use uber for a day trip from Capetown to Boulder Beach and several other stops,Simon’s town Muizberg etc.

I don't think I would use Uber for a long day trip. I was mostly letting you know that it works well around Cape Town.

No, I would not use Uber for that. Hence, why we had a private driver/guide for that excursion.

We used a private driver for the day- pick up from the cruise port and a 10 hour day including Boulder’s Beach, Simon’s Town, Chapmans Peak, Cape of Good Hope etc and drop off at our hotel at the end of the day. It was not a lot more than a tour and less than uber would have been for the day. Our driver, Tash was professional, he spoken English fluently and his vehicle and driving were all to be recommended . We did use Uber for many other shorter trips, to Stellenbosch and then to the airport, it’s very affordable and we had no issues with any of our drivers. Our trip was May 2025 and we had a great vacation.

Several years ago I rented a car at the airport and drove into the wine country and then down to the cape and back to the downtown area over 5 days without any problems.

We booked a driver through Seraphina Gordon (contact info below) earlier this month. Our driver picked us up at our Airbnb in Sea Point and drove us to Boulder’s Beach, Chapman’s Peak, Cape of Good Hope etc. We were very happy with the driver. We went on a Saturday and there were a lot of bicycles on Chapman’s peak. I was very glad I wasn’t the one doing the driving!

We paid $395 for the day.

We had explored other options as well - from this forum & TA. This seemed pretty competitive and booked with the same company we are using for the last portion of trip in Victoria Falls in Krueger. We did the rest of the trip ourselves (Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and the Garden Route)

We used Tash, Tash tours for a full day. He picked us up from the cruise port and we spent 10 hours touring Chapmans Peak, Simon’s Town, Boulders Beach, Cape of good hope etc. before dropping us off at our hotel. Cost was approx C$300 for the day, he was incredibly professional , spoke English fluently and was a safe driver with a new vehicle. We loved our time in Cape Town.
