Canada -Orleans bus between Montreal - Quebec City?

Hi fellow RS people!
This is about the area around/ between Montreal & Quebec City. Have any of you traveled by Orleans Express bus ( between Montreal & Trois Rivieres? Or between Trois Rivieres and Quebec City? What was your experience & opinion of the bus?

We have a trip planned there in late summer. We'll spend a third of our time in La Mauricie National Park.

We would like to only have a rental car for the 3 days of trip where we spend time in La Mauricie (the park).
I have found car rental places in Trois Rivieres.....So my only question is the quality of bus travel between Montreal and Trois Rivieres (or nearby)? Are the buses timely? Reliable? Cleanliness?

I know that train travel between Montreal and Quebec City is tres scenic-- But unfortunately it doesn't go close enough to Trois Rivieres.

Thanks in advance -- I'd appreciate any information if you've had any experience with the bus service there.

Best, Lisa

What is taking you to Trois Rivières? It’s not a place most people would visit.

The OP is probably not spending any time in Trois Rivieres but is picking up the rental car from there to visit the National Park. Lisa, have you found any answer to your question about the bus service? I’m interested as well since I plan to travel between Montreal and Quebec City on public transportation. Curious!

I've taken the Orleans Express a few times between Montreal and Trois Rivieres. Overall, it's a solid option. The buses are usually on time and pretty reliable. They're clean and comfortable, with decent legroom and free Wi-Fi.

Dear Linda in Seattle,

Yes, I have found an answer re: picking up the rental car in Trois Rivieres. There are a couple options. Enterprise rents out of Trois Rivieres. Or if you are willing to try a start-up, Turo has a few renters in Trois Rivieres. When I looked last week, I could save almost $120 USD thru Turo-- however, you are renting a person's car. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that, even with reassurances that we are both protected by contract. But Turo has the advantage of delivering TO you....so the car could come straight to the bus station.

I'm undecided as to which rental option we will take, but there's some information for you. Do read carefully- as some car rental companies that pop up as Trois Rivieres are actually 5-30 US miles away.

The bus company has been well reviewed by many people-- so I'm confident taking it. We just have to settle our rental car options so we can enjoy our 3 days in La Mauricie National Park!

I hope this helps, and happy travels!

Lisa, my current plan is to take the bus between Montreal and Quebec City. I’m also researching whether taking a train between the two cities will give me a different scenic travel experience. I won’t be driving at all.
