If you are planning to visit Cairo I highly recommend Mohamed Zaki as a tour guide. I got his name and details from a fellow Rick Steve's forum poster. He came highly recommended and did not disappoint. From the moment I contacted him until our departure he was responsive, adjusted the itinerary to meet our needs, provided a world of knowledge, and made us feel like locals.
He included:
Airport pick-ups (with assistance through the customs process) -- and we had three separate parties
Daily excursions timed just right to avoid the crowds, with meals accommodating our vegetarian needs
Guided tours with headsets (there were 6 of us)
An evening show performed by local students
Day trip to Alexandria
Airport drop off
