We have several members who live in the LA area so thinking especially of them.and of course for anyone else who live in that area. Prayers for all and the firefighters and first responders.
I so agree. Just looking at the photos and video on TV is horrifying. It seems surreal that the fire is sweeping thru urban areas.
Sending good thoughts to forum members and their loved ones.
(Keeping this thread travel related so that I don't have to remove it...) Best to avoid NW parts of Los Angeles until the fires and strong winds are under control. The magnitude of the fire and the speed at which it is moving is incredible. Stay safe, everyone.
We're supposed to be in Santa Monica for a few days starting January 21st. I see the PCH is closed to traffic as far south as our hotel to allow emergency vehicles more space. Guess I'll work on plans B and C in case we're advised to stay away. A lot can happen in 2 weeks but I don't want to be in the way.
Allan, I sure hope the fires are out by then. Even so, a Plan B or even C is always a good idea. I have family members who have packed their go bags and are ready to evacuate at a moments notice.
Universal Studios closed today because of the fires.
Friends of mine in Santa Monica say they are fine.
