With the advent of the vaccines , and travel starting to become a reality again , some here may be considering a trip to New York City . One of the city's great museums , usually overlooked , is The New York Historical Society , at Central Park West and 77 st . Of note , a new exhibition , just opening ,and going to August 15 , is the work of Bruce McCall . His work on numerous covers for The New Yorker magazine , are a pure joy , and guaranteed to provide a healthy dose of much needed humor . Here is an example of his work ( this will strike a chord for all air travelers ) https://condenaststore.com/featured/carry-on-luggage-bruce-mccall.html Here is the museums web page - https://www.nyhistory.org/exhibitions/bruce-mccalls-new-york I hope some of you can make it !

steven, that’s a priceless piece, although below the artwork I see you can buy a copy, at assorted prices. So a seat-pocket copy of Life appears on The New Yorker! I wonder what was bought at Duty Free in Saskatoon? Untold quantity of bottles of maple syrup? T-shirt that looks like a RCMP uniform? The child’s carrying a vase bigger than himself! The guy stowing the tiny car clearly has rolling luggage. Apparently the tires don’t fit in the overhead compartment - I wonder how he got the lug wrench thru Security? It’s not just a sketch - Bruce McCall’s full-color image really feels like being onboard. That must be a wondrous show.

The link you provided included a “< Prev | Next >” feature, so I scrolled thru a few more. Striking a chord with many during the Covid-19 protocols would be Adam Douglas Thompson’s sketch: https://images.fineartamerica.com/images/artworkimages/mediumlarge/3/stopping-to-smell-the-flowers-adam-douglas-thompson.jpg

This is wonderful. Also thought the Adam Douglas was funny.
Won't catch it in person but appreciated the distraction today.
