We fly from Airlie Beach into Brisbane the afternoon before we fly back to the U.S. the following day. We are looking at a few great B&B's in the Spring Hill area, and are wondering what kind of transportation there might be if we would like to stay in town versus at an airport hotel with a shuttle.
Is there any other transportation option besides a taxi ?

We are dropping a car in Airlie Beach and flying into Brisbane at 6pm and our flight out of BNE to LAX leaves the next day at noon !
I would normally stay by the airport and use a shuttle, but I found so many fun B&B's in the Spring Hill area. Because we have a bit of time, I would rather stay in a fun location and wander the town.

By the time you get off your plane and into the city it will be at least 7pm. The following day you will need to checkin for your LA flight by 9:30am. This leaves you no time at all unfortunately. I would stay at the airport (there is a Novotel) but with the possibility of taking a taxi in for dinner at a riverside restaurant.
Next time you will have to stay longer.

Note that a taxi to the city from the airport is $40-50 and takes about 30mins.
If you choose to stay at the airport you always have the option to head in to town for dinner, depending on how you feel.
If you choose to stay in the city or Spring Hill then I fear you may end up disappointed when you find you have next to no time.
Btw, I went to school in Spring Hill.

It looks like a great neighborhood ! We will stay closer to the airport and if we have the energy, we can taxi in. Good idea.
