Hi, I'll be in Boston for a mid-week trip this spring and am thinking of having afternoon tea one day. I won't have nice clothes as I'm there for a casual jeans type of trip and will just have a carry on bag (meaning I may have room to throw in a pair of black pants but am not sure). The public library tea looks interesting. If you've been to tea at the Langham, are jeans too casual? Any thoughts about the library tea vs. Langham Hotel?
Thanks!
As long as the jeans aren't the "distressed" type (holes, frayed edges, etc.), pair it with a nice lightweight sweater, top or a cute jacket and some dressier shoes (e.g., ballet flats, loafers, boots), not sneakers. It's not anything you need to get super dressed up for, but if you are paying that much to eat scones and finger sandwiches, just don't wear something you'd go out to mow the lawn in and you'll be fine.
