I'm considering a tour of these two South American countries, with specific interests in the ancient ruins of Pumapunku in Bolivia and Macchu Pichu and the Nazca Plains in Peru. Has anyone found a reasonably priced tour company that specializes in these kinds of trips? I am not looking for 4-star hotels, just fair prices with a tour guide who can fill in the blanks on these ruins and related places of interest. Much of my motivation comes from the Ancient Aliens series on History channel. Thanks for your input.

I really liked the tour of Peru with OAT - Overseas Adventure Travel. The tour stayed in a hotel just beneath Macchu Pichu and we took a great optional small plane ride over the Nazca Plains in Peru (with a stop at Ica). A great and affordable tour. The tour guide was wonderful.

We visited Lima in 2011 and took a tour with Monica Tours. It was excellent.

Ck out smartours, while I have not taken their Peru trip I have taken 5 other tours with them.
Well priced and tours are priced with and without air.

I did a tour with G Adventures in 2015 that took us to Cusco, into the Sacred Valley, to Machu Picchu, and then to the Amazon for a few days. I thought it was reasonably priced and the group was very small - only 10 of us. I believe they have tours that incorporate Bolivia, or you could connect two tours together, back to back.
