My husband really wants to go to Belarus for his 60th birthday since his grandparents all came from there. We hope to travel to atleast 3 cities. But Looks like you need a visa support letter that covers your whole stay plus transportation to the hotel?? Does anyone know if this us true? And can anyone recommend a good visa support hotel or travel company? We went to Russia last year and were able to obtain a vusa support letter with no hotel named. It was great.
A tourist visa is required for Belarus, find all the requirements on the US Department of State website: http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/country/belarus.html. They also provide a link to the Belarusian Embassy website to learn more at http://usa.mfa.gov.by/en/consular_issues/visas/. Hope this helps get you started.
Many (but of course not all) of the companies that get visa support for Russia can also do it for Belarus. I'd start by checking with whomever you used for your Russia visa; if they can't help, they probably know who can.
Becky,
You could try a service like this one.....
There are probably many similar firms, but I didn't check.
Belarus is not beyond Europe, just seems that way.....
