I was there about 4-5 years ago. I'd venture to guess that it probably hasn't changed a whole lot: if you want rowdy girls-gone-wild partying, hanging with the surfers, and being largely insulated from the local people and culture, Kuta is your destination. Otherwise, there are a few places that get plenty of foreign tourists (Ubud, etc.) but I doubt they have changed much in the past 15 years. And most of the island probably hasn't changed at all.
Bali is indeed wonderful, but this forum is not a venue to promote your business. Thanks for the drive-by spam.
I went to Bali in 2010 and then again last year (June 2015). I was shocked at how much it had changed in just five years. Ubud was almost unrecognizable. So many more high-end shops, incredibly crowded streets and it just had a totally different feel. I have to say I was a little disappointed. Overall the island's tourism has just exploded and they don't have the infrastructure to handle it. It can take 45 minutes to an hour to get somewhere that should take 10-15 minutes to get to. I stayed just outside Seminyak and it was painful to get anywhere. I did take a day trip up North in the Bedugul area and you could find some peace and quiet up there. You might consider staying on the North side if you want the Bali of old but you might be shocked when you see the area around Kuta, Seminyak, Ubud, etc. It is still a beautiful place filled with incredibly kind people and will always have a special place in my heart for Bali, but it was just a little disappointing how much it had changed in five years.
