Australia - Uluru & Ayers Rock Resort Tours

Headed to Australia in late August that will include Uluru (formerly Ayers Rock). Will be staying at the Ayers Rock Resort which also offers tours. Would appreciate reviews / info / tips of guided day tours offered by the Resort and / or any other tours offered by other companies. My main interests are: a sunset or sunrise tours of Uluru and Kata Tjuta (the Olgas); and, geological and cultural history of the area. Many thanks!

I stayed at the private $$$ lodge that provided its own tours because this trip was a lifelong dream of mine and the DreamTime stories in context, etc. One day (of my 3) I was able to get to the Ayers Rock Resort complex for that museum.
Be sure to choose an option, maybe like this one,, because learning the stories as you are seeing and experiencing Uluru is unforgettable:

(It is absolutely magical! Also, it could be quite cold at night, the desert winter.)

Unless you plan to rent a car one of the guided tours will be your best bet. Booking thru the resort will likely be the most expensive of the available options but probably the most convenient too.
The Things to Do pull down menu on TripAdvisor is usually pretty handy in sorting out other options - including day trips and tours of Uluru, the Olgas, and the nearby Kings Canyon.

https://northernterritory.com/uluru-and-surrounds/destinations/uluru This site is produced by the government of the Northern Territory is probably the most balanced and non-commercial.

The surrounding country has been known as Uluru for about 40,000 years. Colloquially, known as the rock with deep affection.

The rock has its own anthem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKtlHqDmS7w

It does rain on the rock, but I have not been lucky enough to experience it.

Reminds me that it is a long time since I have been to Uluru country. Indelible memories of camping and going to sleep gazing up at the Southern Cross and the Milky Way. Unpolluted by light of modern society. Dreamtime.

Cannot comment on accommodation or guided day tours as I have never used them.
