Australia - best places to catch the Ashes and memories

For those who don't know, the Ashes is a famous, historic test cricket series between Australia and England. England are touring down under in an attempt to regain the Ashes for the first time in almost a decade. Australia will fight to retain the urn. The series is to start on the 21st of November, and will go on till early January across 5 test matches. What are the best places in Australia where one can catch cricket live on television?

Also, feel free to share your Ashes memories during your travels if you're into cricket (or if you're just a passive follower)!

You will find sports bars and pubs in every city and town throughout Australia showing the Ashes on the big screen. Easy to just google "sports bars" or "sports pubs" for any town or city, then look at the reviews.

If you are in Australia during that time, you should try and get tickets for the Ashes, even if for just one day. There is usually a great atmosphere, lots of beer and sometimes just people watching if the match is dragging.

@ Jayde

Broadcast live on local Channel 7, Internet Fox sports and Kayo. But it is all over bar the celebratory drinks. You will do yourself serious mental harm watching this bunch of Pommy losers. Stop now! Hopefully it will not progress to actual physical harm. Only Joe Root and Jofra Archer would be considered by the Australian selectors. Really enjoy watching Archer letting fly at 150kph. Wish he had immigrated to Perth.

Flew to my home city of Perth, am a longtime WACA member. A great 2 days followed by Rotto, Scarborough Beach and Margaret River. Wonder full stadium. Enjoyed the Balmy Army songs, they can get into your head.

Just finished watching the Gabba victory on TV. The Balmy Army and entourage must be the only sports supporters that celebrate watching their team being humiliated. Have had plenty of practice honing their skills. I believe the expression in Yorkshire is: Thick as two short planks.

Will miss Adelaide and listen on the radio. Have decided that going sailing is more fun. Will be at MCG with the 100,00 others for Boxing Day. I speculate that Will Hill and Ladbrokes will be offering Baggy Greens at 1,000,000 to 1 on, tomorrow.

The sportsman in me wishes I could say best of luck but would be pointless, need a miracle or some of that cocaine floating in the Caribbean.

Regards Ron

The selectors bizarre love affair with Josh Inglis is actually keeping England in with a faint sniff. Had they made the obvious selection decision of going with the Slug from Snug big Beau Webster game wouldn't still be on.
Beau is a more accomplished first class batter than Josh and obviously adds great bowling depth. With Cummins just back from injury, Green still finding bowling form the extra paceman would make a huge difference. Also now with Gaz doing his hammy you can use Beau's other skill as a tall off spinner who gets bounce as a serious weapon.

I thought Cummins was doing decent well.

I worry that Starc isn't the shutdown wicket machine I'd expected.

Cummins did a great job on such a limited preparation post stress # in his back. But he didn't bowl for a 2 hour period yesterday due to soreness. He said he probably won't get up for the Boxing Day test. Green bowled OK but has only been back bowling at full tilt for 2 months. That is why we should've played Webster instead of Inglis. Inglis purely in the team as a batter and coming in at 7. Webster is at least his equal with the bat and would shoulder a lot of the pace bowling grunt work. He was originally an off spinner and can still bowl some spin and at near 2 metres tall can be tricky. With Lyon injured it would've been another option.
Starc did get the job done with 3 key wickets late. He is always most effective early in an innings, so often strikes in the first couple of overs. He also had shoulders a big load in the first 2 tests. Also spent a lot more time batting in this series than he normally does.
We did finally see England knuckle down and play disciplined cricket so hopefully they can bring that next week.
