Looking for recommendations for a private one day (I know it will be a long day) tour for March, 2023. Arriving in Amman several days before a group tour of Jordan & Egypt. TIA

Sending you a PM with contact info on a driver I used in April. You can ask about timing but to drive both ways, plus see anything at all in Wadi Rum, would be a grueling day. Could you stay overnight? If so, it is completely doable. Obviously just going from Amman to Wadi Rum would be fine.

Since you have only 1 day, I would recommend booking a private tour for exactly what you'd want to see. For example, we booked a tour from Jordan Select Tours (they were a good company, no complaints there), to Petra (including Wadi Rum) but it included a stop at Kerak Castle. Well, I could have done without that, although it is one of 3 largest Crusader Castles. Don't need that stop, IMHO if you are pressed for time. Really enjoyed stop at Mt Nebo. I'm not sure what all you will be seeing on your Jordan group tour, though. I would contact Jordan Select or Green Olive tours about a custom private tour. BTW, you must go to Habibah Sweets in Amman for kanafeh (originated in Nablus and we had it all over Palestine, but this was arguably the best!!)
