Amazon Peru

We're planning a trip to Peru this summer. Does anybody have any recommendations on things to do in the Amazon or a good Amazon lodge where we could stay?

there are many places to choose from you should do some research on the location and cost. In general you don't go on your own while in the amazon - the lodge arranges guide and transportaiton for you. Many of the places are on the water bank, you'll likely arrive by boat. From there the guide takes you on various hikes to see birds, monkey, crocodiles, etc. I went to porto maldonado a long time ago and stayed at a ressearch camp, and we also did some hikes to a lake in the jungle, and did some night tours on the river (this is when all the animals coming out), and visited some local villages to see the climate change and farming impacts on the ecosystem. Regardless what activities they offer, you'll need a great guid with you - he makes all the differences while you're out there.
