African Safari Tour Company Recommendations

Looking for recommendations for an African safari tour company. We would like to incorporate Victoria Falls and Cape Town - about a 2-2.5 week trip in summer 2023. Thanks.

Odysseys Unlimited has a couple of tours in Africa that would fit your needs - the Africa’s Wildlife tour with a Cape Town extension and Southern African Odyssey. We have done two safaris with them and both were fabulous. I highly recommend them. We are hoping to go back for a third safari next year. Edited to add that the Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Their breakfast is unbelievable!

Imprint Tours has a Southern Africa tour that starts on 8/13/23. I did this tour in 2018 and loved it. It includes Victoria Falls and Cape Town as well as Botswana. It is 12 days and there is an optional extension to Namibia. The company is owned by Reid Coen, a former Rick Steves guide. Reid did our tour, and he was awesome. The tour guide for the 2023 trip is Sarah Murdoch. I have not toured with her, but hope to some day. Everyone seems to love her.

The last safari I enjoyed involved a land rover, a couple of cans of gas and some sleeping bags, so I can't recommend a specific tour company, but I do strongly recommend Botswana. The wildlife is spectacular, the accommodations are now infinitely better, and it's closer to Victoria Falls, if you want to continue on to the Falls overland. You might want to fly into Cape Town, then fly on to Gaborone to pick up your group there or in Chobe I suppose, and finish in Vic Falls. I went 40 years ago (how can that be?) and I remember it like it was yesterday. Have a wonderful time.

We are booked on Good Earth Tours that operate mainly in Kenya and Tanzania. They have great reviews.
