Safaris are expensive, but two areas are best, South Africa and Kenya/Tanzania

The Blue Train is the most luxurious in Africa. See bluetrain.co.za. See reports at seat61.com.
There is a British company - greatrail.com that offer wildlife and rail combinations. Safaris are never cheap. Best to go at the end of the dry season to see the animals.
