Accomodations for a family of 5 in Malta

I am looking for accommodations in Malta in March for my family of 5 (teens and and a tween). What area(s) are good to look at? Is St. Paul's Bay a good area to stay for kids and is it hard to get around from there? We would like to have a pool available to us. Thank you in advance.

I have been to Malta, and it's not a very large place. You'd probably be okay anywhere on the island. You might want to make sure you're close to a bus line, however.

I only traveled with my significant other, but we found nice apartment on www.booking.com. Personally, I would stay in Valletta - the bus connections are great as it is the main bus hub. Plus, many interesting attractions are right in Valletta and I assume you'll want to spend at least some of your time there. Otherwise, check out Gozo - there are very nice, atmospheric farmhouses there with swimming pools, which your kids may enjoy. Gozo is more rural than Malta and accessible via ferry service. Gozo may offer your family more living space and roomier acccomodations and also has bus service (not as frequent as Malta but manageable).

Have a look at Hotel Preluna on the waterfront in Sliema, where we stayed. Well located, good hotel and the bus to Valletta stops right outside the door.

Edit: The bus to Valletta takes you to the bus terminal just outside the walls of the city. From there you can take a bus to most places on the island. When we were there the bus drivers were an eccentric lot, one of whom we called "the Bus Nazi". I think it is different now, with more modern buses and kinder drivers.
