30 Day Indian e-Visa Date of Issue/Expiry

Hi All,

I have applied for a 30 Day Indian e-Visa through the government website and I just received confirmation that it was approved.

On my Application Form, I stated that I will arrive in India on November 7, 2019 and depart on November 23, 2019. It was my understanding that I could apply in advance. My e-Visa was successfully granted, but with the Date of issue of ETA: October 17, 2019 and Date of expiry of ETA: November 15, 2019. I am a bit confused about these dates. Does this mean that my visa expires on November 15? Has anyone experienced this problem when applying a few weeks in advance?

Any help would be appreciated. I've contacted the e-Visa support center as well, waiting to hear back.

I've just come back from India for the second time and never had any issues with my e-visa. You definitely want the dates to coincide with when you are leaving and departing. Usually, you are sent a confirmation once you authorize payment - were the dates correct on that? They are very particular when you are entering and leaving including taking a photo of you and thumb or fingerprints. The support centre should be able to help and you want to get it right before you leave.
