12 days solo travel in late January/early February. Considering India or Egypt.

I am looking to travel solo in either India or Egypt four around 12 full days the last week of January/first week of February.

For context, I do plan to hire a guide if I visit Egypt, and in India I have classmates from my university that I plan to meet up with in different cities, so I won't be completely going alone the entire time I would be there. Both destinations interest me due to their rich history and I have a desire to travel beyond Europe after visiting Turkey over the summer. I am leaning towards India. My biggest concern in Egypt is safety but wanted to get advice from people who have been to Egypt on what precautions to take, things to avoid doing.

My itinerary for both countries would be:

Egypt: Cairo/Giza, Luxor, Aswan & Abu Simbel
India: Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Agra/Taj Mahal

If anyone has alternative ideas I'm open to suggestions.

For Egypt, I would suggest you look at the tours offered by companies such as Collette, Insight or Trafalgar. The places you want to visit are well catered for by these companies, and they always have security personnel along. The tours include all meals, most excursions (Abu Simbal is usually an add on), internal airfares in Egypt and excellent guides. Or you could also look at working out your own itinerary with a tour company in Cairo. Use the search function to find old entries naming some.

I have been to Egypt three times, the last in 2022 and love that country. The history is amazing. Also, the cost of our last tour that included two river cruises was great. We did Gate 1 Travel. If you pick Egypt, be sure to compare prices with other companies.
Our tour was a little more than half what Viking charged for a similar tour/cruise.

Also, I have been to India, but not the area you listed. India is great, but compared to Egypt, I would pick Egypt.
The new Egyptian Museum in Gaza is now open and according to photos fantastic.
Our tour had a great guide that had a university degree in Egyptian history. Also, our tour had an armed guard (as do all group tours in Egypt).

The one thing that I didn't like in India was the awful highways. We found Egypt to have superior highways to India.
While on the crowded highways in India, our tourist bus seems to have a near collision about every few minutes.
Take a look at what type of transport you will have on your India tour.

Also, in both countries, be sure to never drink any water not from a sealed bottle. Never eat from street food or cheap restaurants.
