Walking shoes for Rome/Florence in October

Any recommendations on shoes for Rome/Florence in October? I have men's Adidas running sneakers, which are very comfortable but I'm concerned of rain as sneakers aren't waterproof. We're there end of Sept., beginning Oct. Also, will sneakers work on cobblestones? I think they'll be good on marble. Thinking of Vasque men's Traverse, which may be good for cobblestone. Also, bringing Berkenstock sandals, I think.

I only take one pair of shoes -- Ecco walkers. They are waterproof with a heavy, lugged sole similar to some hiking shoes but with a smooth toe oxford look that is fairly dressy.

In June/July I wore my running shoes. I’m glad I did because of the heat (they are ventilated and light weight). My running shoes are designed for all types of weather - so personally I would take them. Which ever shoes you take be sure to break them in before your trip. I bought my running shoes 2 months before my trip. Im glad I did because I had No blisters or sore feet.

Third week April 2019. Florence, Sienna, Pisa, Monacco, Nice, Paris. Two days of rain in Pisa and Monacco . New Balance Walking sneeker with good all round foot and arch support. They got wet those two days, dried out a bit over night. clean dry socks every morning. I never even thought about my feet, too busy seeing the sights. Enjoy your trip
