Hi, I'm starting to think about packing for an 18 day europe trip and my biggest issue is shoes- what to bring? i'm only taking a 22 inch carry on and backup for my whole trip, which includes 5 days in Cornwall & London, a few days in Copenhagen and then a Baltic cruise. I've been wearing my Keen Mepshisto mary janes for years and will bring those but want another pair of shoes to really walk a lot in London and Copenhagen. Ideas? I'm thinking it will be too cold for sandals so was hoping for great athletic shoes that don't look like running shoes and would love ideas. Thanks!
You already are wearing my favorite brand of shoe. Have you scoured the Keen website to be certain there isn't another shoe that meets your criteria. I swear by the brand and travel extensively with Keen shoes and sandals depending on where I'm going and in what season. I find them light weight and durable. Pricey yes but IMHO worth every dime.

Above expands into many posts about shoes. My wife is currently having foot problems (mid foot arthritis), and her orthopaedic surgeon told her to buy Alegria Shoes. They've done wonders for her mobility with their rounded sole.
I have plantar fascitis and also get gout flareups from time to time. I bought a pair of Kuru shoes prior to a trip to Spain and they were quite comfortable. They are supposed to be designed to cradle the heel for comfort. More recently, I discovered that Crocs now makes a full line of loafers, sandals and casual shoes. I bought 2 pair and used them last summer while traveling in Scandinavia. I found them to be extremely comfortable and versatile.
