Type of shoes for June travel to Copenhagen, Oslo, London and Edinburgh

I have read the suggestions on this forum. about walking shoes, but my question is: what type of shoes will I need for 14 day travel in June to Copenhagen, Oslo, London and Edinburgh?

I know you can't predict the weather-- but for you that have traveled during this time, what did you bring to wear? Laced and waterproof walking shoes (Clarks) ? Open toed walking sandals (like keen or Merrill)
I imagine we will get rain esp. In London and Edinburgh -- but one source said 75-80 in Oslo -- so I don't want to be stuck wearing shoes that are too hot.

I've checked "typical weather" for that month, and I figure I will bring 2 pairs of pants(black, yoga type so that they pack well) , 2 capris, and 1 black jersey fabric skirt. What type of shoes will go with all of that? Mary Janes? Tevas?
Any suggestions from RS fans who have traveled to those locations during June would be appreciated-- thanks

Ah, the never ending shoe question! I'm waiting to hear responses as I will be on a Baltic cruise at the same time and am curious. I hate frumpy shoes, yet comfort is a must and it seems never the two shall meet, lol.

I haven't been to Oslo, but have been to London and Edinburgh in June. I wore MaryJanes, one time Naturalizer Referee, the other time Clark's something. I took the same clothes like you mention, wore the MaryJanes on the plane and packed a pair of Born sandals. All was fine, my feet were happy!! It did not rain a drop either trip, both were for 2 weeks......May-June.

Responding from Copenhagen. Expect cobble like brick paved walkways that can be wet.

Having been to all four cities in June, I agree with your packing list. All the shoes you mentioned are good choices. Scandinavia and the UK were very rainy last summer, so my Keen sandals worked well (since they are both washable and comfortable). Another recommendation is a Mary Jane from Mephisto Allrounders. They come in a few styles (e.g. Nero, Nimbo etc.) and are a cross between a Mary Jane and a walking sneaker. The Allrounder line (made in Asia) is less expensive than Mephistos made in France. They are really comfortable and come in basic colors such as black and beige, as well as a variety of brighter colors. Bon Voyage!
