After slipping and slithering around on our South Italy tour this year, and having heard reports of similarly slick cobblestones in Portugal, where we're headed in September, I decided it was time to get shoes with grippy soles.
I favor SAS in general. They are well-made (in the USA,) offer good support, and come in a wide range of styles and sizes. I wear an 11 W, and many or even most brands don't come that big. I favor styles that most people would describe as "practical" or "teacher shoes."
The SAS website has a category for "slip resistant" shoes. The one that I like best is the Alpine non-slip Lace Up Boot. Has anyone tried this? It's an ankle boot, and would look great with pants, which is what I always wear.
Unfortunately, the Tulsa SAS store closed recently, so I can't just go in to check them out. I'd appreciate any comments or reviews.
Thanks.
