Rockport went bankrupt and assets sold

I just got an email today from Rockport saying they've gone out of business and are selling their mailing list to another company. If I wanted to opt-out I could reply to the email.

I didn't know they were in such dire straits. Almost all my shoes were from Rockport, they had comfortable shoes dressy enough to wear to the office and the ProWalker series served me well while travelling while not looking like an athletic shoe. I will miss them!

Bummer!

Hopefully someone purchases the company and the name continues on, but of course in what form only time will tell.

No mention of any issues on their website. Just an "End of Season" sale. Maybe it should be retitled "End of Us" sale, lol.

If you really like their shoes, then use google every so often to keep up with the status of the bankruptcy. It is possible that when they sell off certain assets, "their" shoes will be available from the buyer. Seems to me a similar thing happened with TravelSmith and Magellan.
