Hi all,
Can you recommend a non-waterproof boot that is as comfortable as Rockports for my travel companion? He is in his late 60s and loves the comfort of Rockpots but hates the waterproof lining. He says it makes his feet sweat. It appears that all of their boots have the lining. We want something that he can walk for miles in, but can be dressed up a bit for dinner. We won't be going to any formal dinners. They must be a boot or hightop. Thanks in advance!
Also, he would prefer leather.
Would something like this do?

No personal experience. Rockport prices are not what I spend for shoes. ( And I hate boots/ high top shoes)
Only other thought is looking at hi-top basketball shoes?
Research the Keen brand of shoes.
Maybe Clark’s. You really didn’t give a whole lot of info on which Rockport boot style you are referring to.
He should look at the Timberland Redwood Falls waterproof oxford. If the fit is good it's extremely comfortable, and Timberland waterproof technology can't be beat. They look like a regular shoe, with a slightly more aggressive lugged sole. I happily wore a previous model - the Stormbuck - for decades.
Edited to add: for something more boot-like, look at the Chukka boot.
