Men’s Walking shoes for Germany for mostly urban walking and light trail hiking

Any suggestions for men’s walking shoes for a trip to Germany in the fall that would involve mostly urban walking but might have some trail hiking as well? Looking for something that is water resistant and breathable. For comparison, I have some Merrill Moabs but don’t find them very comfortable for urban walking.

I bought a pair of Oboz Low Leather shoes before I went to Germany. They were phenomenal - I brought an older pair of shoes along to switch out and wound up leaving them behind and wearing the Oboz every day. They are very comfortable and very supportive, and I wore them all over Germany. I'm a woman so bought women's shoes but they also make men's shoes. In fact, the day I bought my first pair (I've since bought another pair), I went to my dentist and heard a guy's voice say, "Nice shoes." I turned and he was wearing the men's version. He told me he loves them and wears them to work but also wears them hiking.

I've been wearing mine on some hiking trails around Duluth as well and they are great. I wouldn't wear them on really strenuous rocky hikes (for that, you really need hiking boots) but they're great on the trail hikes I've been on. The kind I bought are water resistant but they also make some that are waterproof. https://obozfootwear.com/en-us/category/footwear-mens-casual

FWIW, Oboz is a company in Bozeman MT (hence the name) and the company has great ethics. They plant a tree for every pair of shoes they sell and have great customer support.

This might be dressier than you're thinking, but I like these Ecco shoes. Used them daily on last couple of trips. They have Goretex liner and some tread on the sole, so good enough for trails, but don't look like hikers on the street. ecco shoes

Wow. Another discussion on shoes. I have nothing to add that has not already been said a hundred times.

If you have nothing to add then why post your comments??

I am a big fan of the ECCO city walkers. Very well suited for your question provided it fits you well. It has a somewhat wider toe box that is great for my feet but only your feet know. Equally important is you sock selection. I wear a medium weight wool hiking sock year around. Also make sure that you have water proof shoes and not water resistant. Water resistant just means that your feet get wet in 15 minutes instead of five.

Samuel Hubbard just released a new adventure walker shoe that is exactly designed for your needs.

Generally the brand runs a touch wide or higher volume than works for me but I know a lot of people love them.

Thank you for the suggestions. I found a pair of Oboz Sypes at my local Shoe Mill. Seem very comfortable.
