Keens or sneakers for E-bike touring?

We're doing a bike and barge trip in August with E-bikes. I wore sneakers last time but am wondering if I could comfortably use my Keen Rose sandals (with covered toe) and wool socks. It seems like they would be just as supportive as sneakers and more waterproof. Anyone ever ride with these type of sandals?

My only pair of Keen footwear are actually bike sandals, which were made for pedaling, and are good for walking off of the bike, as needed. The sole is stiffer than other Keens, but the overall support, toe protection from the cap, and sandals being cooler than shoes, make them ideal on a bike. My bikes don’t have motors, but the general idea is the same.

If you’re going to be riding a lot in full sun, and don’t wind up wearing socks with your sandals (I’d skip the socks), be sure to put sunscreen on the tops of your feet, or you’ll get really burned, with webbing stripes where it’s not seared.

I love my Rose style Keen sandals and have worn them for all kinds of activities in Europe. They are my main shoe during my trips with just occasionally switching into a flat for dinners or special concerts. I’ve ridden bikes in them & rented an ebike in the Puglia region of Italy to ride out in the countryside last month, and those sandals were perfect. I have never worn socks with them, except when I double layered some trouser socks when it was a cold week in Switzerland.

Thanks for the responses, I'm going to take my Keens instead of the sneakers- they look nicer. The cycling Keen sandals look interesting to try with my regular clip in bike at home, especially in Florida.
