Just found my true love shoes!

I have always had difficulty finding shoes - I have a high arch, a wide front and a narrow/regular heel and wear a size 9.5 or 10. So when I first started looking for shoes for my trip, it was hard. I found a pair of Rykas online that are comfy but don't give me a huge amount of support, and a pair of Brooks that I like but I'm not crazy about.

Then yesterday I went to a shoe store here in Duluth (thank you, MNAnnie for the heads up!) and found a pair of Oboz Bozeman Low Leather shoes that fit like a dream and feels incredibly supportive! I was attracted to its looks first - it's leather with a sort of "mountain-town" look (stole that from their website - it's a good description) and does not look like your typical gym shoe. So I tried them on. They fit comfortably yet snugly, had a nice arch (with a very supportive insole), room for my toes and best of all, looked really good on my feet - in fact, they made my feet look smaller, imho!

This morning I wore them outside - went for a long walk and by the time I got home my initial crush had developed into a deep love! I can't describe how good they feel on my feet and they look great!

Obviously, YMMV, but I was just so thrilled to find a pair of shoes that I love so much that I just had to come and tell you all. And they come in both men and women's sizes. In fact, I wore them to the dentist this morning and as I was leaving, one of the male dentists came up and said, "I like your shoes." I looked over and he was holding out his foot with the exact same shoe but in a different color. GMTA, I guess. :)

REI Outlet has them for $65-90, depending on color, and there is a member sale coming up tomorrow with a coupon for an additional 20% off.

What's the Georgia Motor Trucking Assn., got to do with shoes?

Lola, I got mine for $70 but I will definitely check REI. I just may have to get another pair!

Pat, safe travels to you, too! Aren't you going to be there around the same time as me?

Joe, ha! Great Minds Think Alike. :)

Aimee, glad to know that about the company! I was checking their website and am so happy to know that they are all about diversity and sustainability. And they're in Bozeman MT! My daughter lived there for several years after college and I loved going there to visit her.

I’m always looking for comfortable shoes.

What color did you get?

I got the Frost Grey, Priscilla, and like them, but I wouldn't mind having a pair in black.

Yay, I'm glad you found Benders in Duluth! Until earlier this month, they were located across from Grandma's near Target. I shop online when I can't find what I need locally, but I prefer to support stores in our community. My daughter isn't a runner (except after her own children and her students), but she loves Benders. She just bought her 6 year old son a pair of MInnetonka slippers for his birthday last week.

At our weekly snowshoeing activity yesterday, we were talking shoes/boots and Oboz Bozeman were being worn by another participant (she has two pair). I will be checking them out.

Add me to the Oboz Bozeman Low Leather fan club! I've had mine since fall and they've done me a solid through all my PNW dog walks this winter! They are really comfortable and look the same as they did the day I got them!

@MNAnnie, I do love that store! I bought some socks while I was there, too. Some Feetures, Sockwells and Darn Touch socks. I would have bought some Balega but they don't carry them. Sadly, I had to return the sandals I bought there - I tried them on when I got home, sans footie, and they just didn't feel right. So the search continues, although i did order some Bernie mev sandals online that may or may not fit. :)

@Shelly, glad to know they are still looking good!

Thank you so much for recommending Oboz shoes, Mardee. I was looking for a new pair of shoes for an upcoming trip, and kept the brand in mind when I was out shopping 10 days ago. I bought a pair of the women’s low leather, and love them! Comfortable right out of the box. Terrific shoes, which I am wearing every day now, and look forward to wearing on my trip! Thx again!

UPDATE: Just thought I'd check back about my Oboz shoes - I still love them and they were wonderful for my month-long Germany trip! In fact, I wound up sending my Altra shoes home and wearing the Oboz exclusively for walking. I think what I liked most about them is that they are so supportive. I never worried that I would trip and fall while walking, which has happened with other shoes.

PS: Once I got home, I ordered another pair online (in a dark grey). I'm so happy to have 2 pairs now!

So sad. I was hoping I would fall in love with the Bozeman Low Leather shoes too. They arrived today, I tried them on with socks and walked around the house. My heel is too narrow for them; my heel slipped up and down as I walked. I guess it’s back to the drawing board, lol.

I tried them, but they were too stiff for me. They were biting into my ankle. I’m not used to a leather shoe anymore, so I think they were just too much shoe for me
