Good deal on comfortable and waterproof shoes for travel

Hi all, I have had great luck with these Vessi shoes when traveling and thought I’d pass on a sale I just found for them.

https://vessi.com/products/womens-weekend-marble-white

I originally bought the Weekend in the oak color over three years ago and have worn the heck out of them. They are so comfortable and repel water extremely well. I loved taking them to London and Scotland. Several of the colors are being offered at a significant discount Sale of 15% off and an additional 25% at checkout.

If anyone has been in the market for this type travel shoe, it’s a really good deal. Just passing it on!

I have a pair of the chelsea boots and love them. Easy to get on and off, very waterproof and comfy. They are a stretchy fabric upper and the water just beads right off! And they are lightweight too. And also - cute. Just spent 5 days in NYC and wore them every day. I also ordered a pair of the alta high tops for more of hiking kind of boot, looking forward to checking them out.

My husband and I both have a pair of their sneakers. They are waterproof and are very comfortable.

I was just reading Rebecca's post on the Christmas gift thread about Vessi shoes and they look really nice! I will definitely have to check those out.

I got a pair of Vessis in an off-white color. I used them on a two week trip. They are definitely waterproof and comfortable. Our trip was a bit over 2 weeks and they were not worn every day. They got VERY dirty. They are impossible to wipe off during travel. When I got home I tried to hand wash with a scrub brush. They are not fully clean and I will try again at some point. Next time I would get a different color.

Jules, your experience matches my daughter’s. She bought the white to use on our trip because they were so cute with leggings (fashion prevails over practicality most of the time with that one) and they got very dirty. Didn’t help she submerged them by accident in the English Channel water one day, but…lol

When she got home she used a paste of baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, a drop or two of Dawn dish soap and water and scrubbed them pretty well. They cleaned up nicely with that mixture.

I love my Oak color ones, but they are worn out. I bought the grayish ones as they were on sale. I hope they are dark enough. We’ll see!

Do they have enough support though? I also always wonder with the cobble stone if maybe they wont hold up or my ankles will hurt?

I found them to be very supportive. The cushioning on the sole is great. I usually wear them with merino wool hiking socks when on a trip and my feet/legs always felt great after a long day of sightseeing and walking.

They felt the same to me, in terms of ankle support, to my Brooks sneakers. In terms of the bottom of my feet, the vessis were slightly less comfortable to the sneakers. I tend to have at least 2 pair of shoes and I typically rotate the shoes.

Interesting post. Thanks for the review.

I guess I have a problem paying over $120 for fabric shoes. Leather, yes.

Can anyone comment on whether these shoes lasted for several years of hard use? I typically walk 10 miles a day when I travel. At that price, I'd expect the shoes to last for 5 yrs.

Daisy, I can't comment on these shoes. But, it's usually recommended that walking shoes be replaced every 300-500 miles. And this is due to the support and cushioning wearing down, not the condition of the outside of the shoe. So 5 year life may be optimistic.

Daisy, I am not one to buy expensive anything. Handbags, nah. Clothing, nope. Hairstyling. Laughable. Makeup, even more laughable. But shoes, I don’t think twice if I find a brand that allows my body to feel good when traveling and are durable. These Vessis ticked all the boxes. I did try to find a sale when I bought them, but I haven’t regretted paying out a bit more than for my Brooks sneakers. I am a former teacher and was on my feet constantly for 35 years, so shoes are really important to me.

In terms of the length of time they’ve lasted, I have gotten about 3.5 years out of my original pair. Been to the UK with them three trips and put on many steps there as well as just knocking around here at home. Hope this helps.

I read somewhere that they run narrow and I have somewhat wider feet. I can wear regular sizes in some shoes, but if they're already a bit narrow, they probably won't work for me. I have a friend that has a pair and she really likes them.
