Favorite travel shoes: Saucony Jazz Low Pro

I can recommend Saucony Jazz Low Pro shoes which are rated 5 stars on Zappos here:

(select Men or Women in left column)

Available in whole and half sizes. Men’s are D width. Women’s are B width.

Lightweight and durable, with a good tread allowing them to double as light hiking shoes.

Have a lower heel than most athletic shoes, making them more stable and comfortable for walking.

Comfort is improved by replacing the thin, removable insoles with better ones such as from Superfeet or these from The Walking Company: https://www.thewalkingcompany.com/orthotics

If you replace the insoles, you may need shoes a half-size larger than normal.

On a recent trip, I wore these shoes hiking on Mount Etna and walking up to 12 miles a day.

On a rainy day, they can be dried with a hair dryer.

Two pairs of these are the only shoes I take when traveling.

Available in a variety of colors, but darker ones stay cleaner looking and can double as dress shoes in the evening.

For men, I prefer this one as it’s the darkest and most conservative looking:

Hi - I'm considering a vacation to Paris, London.. other large cities. I've been told that I must wear fashionable shoes. I do have feet issues (hallux Limitus). I can't wear flats - not enough support. I have insoles from a doctor (podiatrist). If I do lots of walking, I normally wear New Balance Classics with my insoles. This shoe really isn't much different than the saucony originals you've mentioned. I'm in good shape.. 40 years old. Will my walking shoe be that bad for Paris? I'll never pass as a French women anyway..

@hmcleod77, don't listen to "those people" -- wear the shoes that make your feet happy. Parisians will find enough other things to feel superior to you.
