Ecco for men

Sad to say, I bought a pair of Eccos specifically for my Europe trip and they did not suit me. I suspected this since I test-drove them for a few weeks beforehand, but they were a major disappointment. I have plantar fascitis (sp?) so my shoes make a big difference, I had to mix and match all my various inserts and appliances and tapes and those shoes still were not comfy. They also looked really funky.

So buyer beware, all our feet our different and not all the highly-recommended shoes will work for you. You might want to use an outfit like Amazon or Zappos that allows free returns and try out many, many pairs before your trip.

Another good reason to do lots of walking around at a shoe store, especially off of their soft rug, like out in a mall. I tried on Eccos and they did not feel good on my feet at all. I later tired Clarks when they were still made in England and loved them. They are no longer made in England and my buddy who runs a shoe store says he gets many complaints for folks who have bought Clarks after having a pair of the original ones. I was able to get 3 pairs of AirMovers just as they were going out of production in England and have two of them resoled and new inserts. They fit me like a glove as I walk around Europe every summer. I also have a pair of Myfestoes (sp?) which I take when going to a real wet climate. They are gore tex lined and keep my feet very dry but are not as comfortable as my Clarks. Good luck.

I only wear Ecco's when hitting up Europe. My go to city walking shoe is their Summer Mesh. They don't make it anymore but they almost always have a shoe very similar. It's light weight, breathable, and extremely comfortable. I have a narrow foot so it also fits snug.

For a more rugged Ecco shoe I take their Biom Grip. Worked perfectly for the hiking trails of Ireland.

I seriously can't go back to anything else. Not saying Ecco doesn't have their flaws. But I was lucky enough to find the perfect shoe.
