Dansko Patti - Review for the best walking shoes ever (for me)

A few years ago I needed to change shoe brands, as my previous ones were exasperating the plantar fasciitis problem I had developed.

I changed to Dansko brand clogs. While the clogs were great for work, and really helped, they still were not working for travel.

For my most recent trip I purchased these

These were the best shoes I have ever used for walking. While tennis-shoe-ish, I liked that they didn’t look like a traditional tennis shoe. I wore them day and night, with casual skirts and dresses and felt comfortable.

For some sizing context, I tends to like my shoes on the wider side, with a wide toe-box. For some brands I wear wide, but with Dansko, I do not.

I noticed that this brand is not mentioned in this forum, so I thought I would share.

I hope that helps!

Thanks for your review. I have been a strong advocate for Dansko for years, but haven’t mentioned them lately as my favorite style is no longer available.

It is good to remind people that Dansko makes more than standard clogs. Your Patti style is a good illustration of that. But the photo does not come through on that website, so I am posting this one:

I love that these Dansko shoes are waterproof! May be just what I need for our trip to London!

What temps did you wear them in? They look super comfortable but Wondering how they'd be in the summer in possibly warm temps.

I wore Danskos for years - mostly the clogs but other styles as well. However, they do not fit me the same as they used to and I know that they are not made by the same company as back then. However, the biggest problem for me is that I cannot wear them walking. I know your shoes are not clogs but it's the same style (sort of) and I have a bad habit of not paying attention and shuffling my feet a bit when I walk. So every time I have walked in them, I wind up catching them on something as I'm walking, which brings me close to a fall.

For me, I need something that is very supportive - that hugs my foot, as opposed to this style that simply holds it (if that makes sense).. They are very cute, though, and I'm glad that they work for you! And if I run into them in a shoe store, I might just try them on to see how they feel. I still wear my old Danskos around the house and around town, though - and you are right in that they are wonderful for planters fasciitis!

@lamb616

I wore them this past month in Italy. Rome was in the 50s, and on the Tuscan coast, it was occasionally wet. I didn't really get to test out the waterproofness of it.

For me, comfort was paramount. I purchased them a month before the trip and was amazed at how comfortable they were from the start.

I am traveling again in May/June and plan on wearing them.

Those are great looking shoes!
They look like Merrell's Jungle Mocs, which I have worn for years in great comfort.

I've been looking for a comfortable shoe, something a step up from trainers. I've worn Dansko clogs in the past and while comfortable, they are clunkier than I like.

But I needed waterproof/resistant shoes so took a leap and ordered a pair of Dansk Patti. They are great! Not a clog but somewhat more streamlined. Kind of a clog/bootie hybrid. I like the way they look with jeans and they have good cushioning, too.

Mariam - thanks for the recommendation!

I am so glad you like them! I am so picky with shoes, so when I find something I really like, it is amazing.

I have worn Danskos for ever and I love them. I have not worn or tried the Patti but it looks like a great option for travel.
I’m gearing up for our Scotland trip and just got my new hiking boots…Oboz, and think they will be perfect for most of our activities. But, I’m considering taking a dressier option in case we want a splurge dinner out, or just want something different for a nice shopping afternoon. So, I’ve got Danskos Callista and Marcella in my cart. I might just order them today so I can try them out at home!

I have never worn Dansko's, but saw this pair in a shoe store last week and they caught my eye. I need to go back and try them on. I. saw them at the shoe store next to Nordstrom Rack at Totem Lake in Kirkland. I can't remember the name of the store, but they had some great walking shoes!

Thanks for posting this. I’m going to try them. I doubt they will work for travel for me but I think they could work at home when I’m not walking as much.
