Yeah finally my first post after relying on so many helpful posters. For my France trip last September, I went through every post in the now closed topic - Women's Walking Shoes - and thanks to a fellow poster, found the Cobb Hill Pandora boots. Oh so very comfortable (took a pounding for solid 2 weeks), stylish and compatible with leggings, pants, and jeans - skinny and otherwise. I actually bought a Skechers walking shoe as well but quickly threw those back in my suitcase for the Pandora boots. I am still wearing the boots at home and just ordered another pair because they are on sale at Amazon for only $67!!! I paid $110 back in September and Zappos is a whopping $135! Here's the Amazon link for the Pandora boots; I got the Almond and they also come in Black, Brown, Merlot and Stone. Will be taking these on my next trek for sure!
Thanks! Is the Almond color the reddish-brown they show in the photo? Usually "almond" is a shade of beige.
Thanks for the tip. Just ordered them in black (more $) as have been looking. They even come in wide which is nice.
Very glad you had a good experience. Style-wise, several brands offer something similar; these look very close to the Reiker-brand boots that I wore for a winter trip to New York. Key fit issues for most people include: good padding, arch support, well broken-in, not too tight, able to fit good socks inside. My feet tend to swell on my European trips, so an adjustable fit is also helpful.
Lola - the almond is beige like. It's the only one on sale for $67. The Merlot is the reddish one.
Cobb Hill makes a great shoe. I have several different styles. I have two pair of the Pandora boot I wore to England last year. But the sandals and slip on's are great for travel too.
