The best walking shoe is the one most comfortable on your foot. Which shoe best fits your foot is a bit of science and a lot of luck. Both of us are big fans of Ecco shoes.
Do you have a walking shoe store nearby ? Might be worth driving 50 miles to get expert advice and actually try on walking shoes.
If only Ecco shoes for travel would fit my feet.
My husband and I are big fans of Allbirds, specifically the wool runners. We both have grey ones. They are machine washable on the wool cycle, air dry. The keep your feet warm in winter and cool in summer. Allbirds makes 2 other shoes, the tree runner and the tree skipper. These are made of eucalyptus pulp.
I am a fan of both Naot and Allegria shoes/sandals. I have done European vacations with both and it was great.
