Bombas compression socks

Does anyone have experience wearing Bombas compression socks? I’m looking for something that doesn’t cut into the back of my knee. Any suggestions?

Sorry if this has been covered recently. I’m a relative newbie and couldn’t find a search option for the forums.

I have not worn Bombas but know someone who has, and she was not impressed by them. She said they were adequate but were definitely not worth the inflated price.

I wear Sockwell compression socks and love them. They come in a variety of colors and compression strengths and feel very good on my feet and legs. I actually read about them here on this forum, bought some and could not be happier with them.

I was not happy with the pair I ordered. I have wide feet but extremely narrow calves, and I felt the size I ordered according to the size guide was uncomfortably tight. I know they should be snug, but I could not even wear them. I’d look for a brand with more favorable reviews.

The whole topic of compression socks remians controversial. Ask cardiologists, diabetes experts, runners, and backpackers and you will get conflicting answers. You've got to choose the correct height, fit, and compression level, measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg).
A good pair is expensive because good ones are considered medical devices. Bombas makes great wool socks but their compressors do not rank. If you believe you benefit from wearing compression socks, I suggest looking for excellent athletic wear brands and medical sox from Sweden.

I own a pair of Bombas compression socks and I wear them for long flights. I like them, but I’ve never worn any other brand of compression socks. They are tight, but I thought that was the idea. I don’t find that they cut into the back of my knee, but everyone’s built a little different. Mind you, I haven’t been directed by a doctor to wear compression socks or anything like that. I think for a diagnosed medical condition, there are particular grades of compression, and I’m no expert at that.

I really like Bombas and wear them in everyday life too (but not compression for everyday). I can say they have an extremely generous return policy. I’ve ordered the wrong size and they have replaced with a new size free or charge. They’ve also sent me a different style if I wasn’t happy with the original. So it could be worth a try.

My daughter is a nurse and she really likes the Bombas compressions socks. She has tried a lot of different kinds and wears compressions socks on every shift. Everyone is built differently and has different expectations so I suggest you order a sample pair and see what you think!

My favorite brand of compression socks is Vim&Vigr. They have several levels of compression, if you’re new to compression socks start with the lowest level (15-20mmHg) and follow their size guide closely. I’ve worn different brands for decades and these have consistently been comfortable and long lasting.

As was recommended above, have your doctor recommend a specific brand of compression socks. This is something you just don’t ask your friends because compression socks can do more harm than good depending upon the person. If compression socks are not fitted properly, they can cut off your circulation.

I agree, consult with your healthcare provider who is familiar with your medical history. This way it will meet your particular needs. Your provider can decide the compression. Some providers may refer you to a local medical supply facility for fit as needed.

I wear the Bombas compression socks all the time - they are comfortable and seem to work well on a day-to-day basis. They have also held up in the wash over the past 6+ months. However if I have a long flight (like from the West Coast to Europe), I opt for something a little thinner but tighter that seem to give more support for long flights but those are ones that I only use for flights.

My spouse ordered a package of three Bombas compression socks and thinks they are wonderful. Much better looking with all the colors than the old compression socks.

Our physical therapist recommended Jobst as the gold standard in compression socks. Gold or not, they are very comfortable and the compression is variable and 15-20 mmHg works well for us when traveling. Both Amazon and the Jobst website have a large selection. On Amazon, search "Jobst travel compression socks" to bypass the myriad of choices made for medical reasons.
