Blundstone women

Thoughts on women's Australian Blundstone boots as an only pair for 30 day trip?

I have several pairs (perk of my job), which I only wear in winter/shoulder and they are comfortable. Any other time of year I would be an overheated mess.

For me, they are too limited in what you can wear them with (without them making your proportions look off ) to consider as my sole (hah!) footwear option on a 30 day trip.

I'm like the other two commenters - I love my Blunds, but don't wear them when it's hot. On our 2nd trip to Europe - mid Sept to early Oct - that was all I took. "Oh, it'll be fine, it's cooler."

By about day 6, I was ready to buy some Birkenstocks (we were in Germany) - I didn't, but I'd wished I'd taken some sandals with me. My feet got really hot more than a few times. If it was a cooler/wetter time of year, they would've been fine. I think when we went to NL/Paris in April a few yrs back, I took sandals but it never warmed up enough to wear them and the boots were fine.

If I wasn't going to take sandals, I'd at least take my really lightweight, mesh Sketchers, which are super comfy and great on warm/hot days.

I'm not sure the gender of the wearer matters—it's just a boot.

I wear mine all year, except when the snow is too high for them. Not 365, but they're go-tos all year round. They're my go-to travel shoe as well, but I do usually pack a light sneaker as well.

Two things that aid in getting that much use out of them: I have aftermarket insoles in all my shoes and only wear socks with high wool content (merino or alpaca)

I love my Blundstones, but for a 30 day trip I would want 2 pair of shoes. Also, not knowing where or what time of year makes a difference. I wear mine all the time except in summer. I did take them as my only footwear on a short weekend trip. We decided at the last minute to do a hike, which was about 6 miles and they were not as comfortable, but I was not wearing hiking socks with them. Our daughter took hers with us to Iceland last summer instead of her Lowa hiking boots. She regretted it. She didn't have blisters or anything, but said the Lowa's were much more comfortable for the longer hikes we did. She wore them just fine the rest of the time, so normal wear.

Thanks for the advice! Will hopefully be doing Rick’s 14 day Best of Europe with almost a week on each side for October ‘22. I have Birkenstock inserts in my Blunts, pretty comfy for walking and standing - I’ll try a couple 4 mile days before I decide & I will take another pair of shoes 👠 👟 or sandals :)

I love my Blundtones, but I can't wear them every single day. You need to switch off your shoes. They've been my best shoes on 3 trips to Switzerland, but my feet need a change. I don't think any one shoe would be great for a month.
