Best walking shoes for Edinburgh Scotland

Any of your shoes comfortable for walking around and standing in for a number of hours should be fine for Edinburgh. I would avoid brand new, untestrd shoes or boots. Walking around is pretty much on pavement. If you do a Holyrood Park walk or hike you can use your hiking boots.
