August travel shoes for central Europe

We will be traveling the month of August to London -> Paris -> Brussels -> Amsterdam. I would like to get by with one pair of sandals and one pair of Saucony (running type, webbed topped) shoes. Now I know it rains a bit in August but we will have an umbrella. Also I would add a pair of wool socks in case of rain when the shoes might get a bit wet.

Now I know weather is ... weather. But general precipitation is low historically and when it rains that tends to be light and sporadic I think. Thoughts?

Your plan works. You can also dry your shoes with the hotel bathroom blow dryer need be.

Smart wool socks. Never a blister.

June of last year took 2 pair of Keens. My Targhee sandals and their Kaci slip ons.

Have 7 pairs of Keen shoes: 2 pairs of Lace Up, 3 pair of sandals, 2 loafers. Expensive, durable, comfortable and worth every penny.

The pair of red Newport sandals have been to Cuba, England, and Italy. The Kaci slip ons, London, Belfast, San Francisco, and Seattle.

My finding the Keen brand came from trying to deal with horrible plantar fasciitis. Former film/tv location scout/manager. 18 hour days. Saw the red pair of sandals at REI when I was shopping for something else. Tried them on. Liked them. Bought them. Within 72 hours of wearing them plantar facitus gone. NEVER to return.

So I swear by the brand. Find what brand works for you as there’s nothing worse when traveling than an inability to walk comfortably.

Thanks Jazz and Claudia. My Teva's sandals are great and the Saucony shoes I have worn for years in mild and cool weather.

The main concern is if I should bring some light leather shoes for rains. Hopefully with the occasional August rains the Saucony's would be OK even if a little wet. If wet I'd switch to some dry wool socks.
