Anyone worn Taos Star sneakers?

If you've seen my other post, you know I'm looking for a good pair of shoes to walk all over a few cities in Europe. We're planning on walking pretty much everywhere we can, so they need to hold up and be comfortable! I'd never EVER wear Vans or Converse to walk all day, but I found the Taos Star sneakers and the reviews are raving about wearing them to walk all day all over everywhere with amazing success. I'm wondering if they're really that comfortable or if all these reviews were written by 18 year olds. Anyone here have experience with them?

No personal experience with them, but the style is cute and similar to the Ecco Chase and Soft II leather fashion sneakers I just discovered and love absolutely, comfy right out of the box for long walks. For me they have excellent arch support, roomy toe box and padded area at heel so no rubbing that I experienced with other fashion sneaker brands. Why not order a pair and try them? Amazon makes it easy to return if need be, also Zappos.

It's been a month since you posted so you've probably solved your shoe question, but, yes, I have Taos Star sneakers on my feet right now! I'm 49 with a history of plantar fasciitis and have found these to work well for me. Good arch support yet relatively slim profile. I haven't done a Europe day in them (I wish...) but they served me well in New Orleans. Good luck - shoes are a challenge!

vitan88, did you end up getting the Taos Star sneakers??

I've been looking at them too. I think they are so cute and you're right, the reviews sound really good. I went to Europe last year and wore Sketchers Go Walk sneakers which I loved. I'm going again in September and had planned to wear the same shoes. However yesterday, I felt them rubbing, and sure enough I seem to have worked a hole in the lining near the heel. I'm not going to risk patching them, I think I need a new pair of sneaks and I relly like the looks of the Taos. I need to figure this out soon so I can make sure they are broken in.

Thanks.

I wear Converse, with the insoles ripped out and Superfeet insoles put in. Doubles the price of the shoe, but completely worth it. Converse always look sort of chic-casual, I love them.
