Are leggings acceptable streetwear in Paris these days? Thank you!
No one will arrest you for wearing leggings ;)
Paris gets millions of tourists every year - many of them wear leggings and have a great trip.
If you are comfortable and feel good - wear them!
But if you are concerned with looking "chic", there is a good video on styling leggings: https://youtu.be/dWWSFpUS0gM?si=SGw8LxZE_LUsT1eW
There is no fashion police in Paris. Not So Blonde is a Youtube channel that asks interesting looking people in Paris what they are wearing. It is quite a good channel not only for the people being interviewed but to see what random people walking around behind them and not being interviewed are wearing, which will help you see people in Paris wearing all sorts of things that supposedly are never worn in Paris. Here is their latest video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiY3qNHDWeo&t=12s. There is someone in this video being interviewed who is wearing a green t-shirt, yoga pants (leggings) and boots.
The days of Parisians being fashion police are long gone.
Not a soul will care about you wearing leggings.
Thank you all.
That Gemma in the what to wear videos could say just about anything and Americans would go along with it because of her British accent. :-)
We were just in Paris and I couldn't tell you one thing anyone was wearing; except when we were in the gardens at the Rodin museum. It's dirt/pebble walkways and one young lady was strolling in her stilettos with her young man. I watched in awe and marvel as I thanked the heavens that I was old enough to unapologetically wear my comfy Hoka walking shoes (unfeminine as can be); yet not too old to appreciate the beauty of youth.
There are so many people there how in the world do you even know who is who. We were there 3 weeks ago and I thought everyone was very low key in how they dress. So many people from so many different cultures and countries.
