The day before heading to Europe, I bought a pair of Ecco Fusion walking shoes, not inexpensive, about $160. In the morning I put my unbroken shoes shoes on, headed to the airport and wore them for three weeks in Spain, Morocco, Portugal and France. I predate the Fitbit generation so I have carried an Omron pedometer for years. I re-set it to zero when I left and after 266,138 steps I can say that these shoes were great. They handled hills, ferries, paved streets, rain, castles, catacombs and cobblestones with ease. My feet never ached, the shoes never hurt or felt uncomfortable. They did not slip on any surface, even wet cobblestones. To me, they are the best walking shoes I have ever owned.
